18 March
The animated fulldome film produced by Planetarium Noosphere, “Polarissimae: Mysteries of the Pole Star”, has been selected for screening at the international Fulldome Festival Brno 2026 among a record number of submissions. This year, 108 fulldome productions created by artists from around the world were submitted for competition. The full festival shortlist is available on the official website: https://www.fulldomefestivalbrno.com/.
The Fulldome Festival Brno 2026 will take place from May 26 to 28 in Brno, Czech Republic. It is a major international festival specializing in fulldome films on astronomy and natural sciences, held in partnership with the International Planetarium Society (IPS).
This year, Planetarium Noosphere will present its production at the Fulldome Festival Brno for the fourth time. In 2023, the international premieres of “Ukrainian Space” and “Our Space Address” took place at the festival. In 2024, the animated films “Space Weekend: In Search of a New Home” and “Beyond the Sky — The Great Space Clean-up,” based on the graphic novel by Jan and Joachim Ciecierski, were presented. In 2025, the animated films “After the Guiding Star” and “Stars: Looking into the Infinity” were premiered.
Ahead of the international premiere of the fulldome animated film “Polarissimae: Mysteries of the Pole Star,” we invite you to experience this spectacular space adventure at Planetarium Noosphere. The story follows a young boy, Max, who gradually uncovers the mysteries of the Pole Star — observing the night sky with his grandfather, embarking on a journey to other planets, and traveling into the distant past, to times when other pole stars shone above the North Pole: when mammoths roamed Earth, when the Egyptians built the pyramids, and when Vikings navigated the oceans among icebergs.
