Combining space and care for animals: registration opens for a nationwide drawing contest
12 March
Registration has opened for the seventh nationwide children’s space-themed drawing contest, the Noosphere Space Art Challenge. This year, the creative initiative is organized by the public organization “Noosphere Association” in cooperation with the educational project “Humane Education and Volunteering” (by UAnimals and Suziria Group).
Children and teenagers aged 3 to 17 are invited to participate, whether they are in Ukraine or abroad. To join the Noosphere Space Art Challenge, participants need to create a drawing based on the contest theme, “Meeting Space Animals,” and submit an online application on the official website: https://noospherespace.art/. Organizers encourage participants to depict their own science-fiction story about life in the Universe and share their vision of what animals might look like in space.
Partnership with UAnimals makes it possible to broaden the focus of the Noosphere Space Art Challenge by combining the traditional space theme with the idea of caring for animals. Through children’s imagination and art, the Noosphere Association aims to communicate the value of life and responsible attitudes toward the world around us in an accessible and creative way.
There are no strict requirements regarding drawing techniques, format, or color scheme. The key task is to create an original work that reflects the author’s personal interpretation of the theme. On May 18, 2026, the Noosphere Space Art Challenge jury will select the authors of the best drawings in each age category (3–7, 8–12, and 13–17), announcing nine winners who will receive commemorative prizes. All participants, as well as the most active schools, kindergartens, and lyceums together with their teachers and educators, will receive participation diplomas.
The nationwide children’s drawing contest has been held every spring since 2019 with the support of Max Polyakov, co-founder of the Noosphere Association and philanthropist. In previous years, 82,963 young artists from every corner of Ukraine, as well as from 25 other countries — including Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Albania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Armenia, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Peru, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the United States, Turkey, and Japan — have taken part in the Noosphere Space Art Challenge. These results enabled the organizers to receive recognition from the National Register of Records for hosting the largest thematic online children’s drawing contest in Ukraine.
